A fourth kind of agent

The canvas already ran Claude Code, Codex and Grok side by side. Now it runs opencode too, and this one is different from the other three: it uses any model from the accounts you already have. If you have signed into opencode with GitHub Copilot, Anthropic, OpenAI or Google, the models from all of them show up in the same panel, and you pick the one you want from inside its own terminal.

Turn opencode on in Settings, Providers. Then create an agent the way you create any other: from the search field, the command bar, or out loud ("open an opencode agent").

Everything the canvas does with the other agents works here. The activity light, the notification when it finishes, the conversation that picks up where it left off when you reopen the project, the canvas tools, and the guard against forgotten dev servers left running.

Recordings five times smaller

The new Balanced quality, now the default, cuts file size by about five times with no visible difference. A ten minute demo that used to take more than 1 GB now fits in about 350 MB, and you can record for half an hour without watching your disk.

The recording panel lets you choose: Maximum if you plan to edit the video later, Compact to drop it straight into a chat. And video you post on the web starts playing right away, instead of waiting for the whole file to download.

Recorded something huge and regretted it? Every recording in the list now has a compress button. You decide how hard to squeeze, and whether the result replaces the original or becomes a copy next to it. Progress shows up right there, and the original is never touched if anything fails along the way.

Video plays inside the canvas

Play now opens a player in the canvas itself, with a scrubber, volume and picture in picture, without leaving the app. A button next to it still opens the Mac player, if you prefer. This works for any video opened from the file panel, including one an agent just showed you.

And a double click on a recording's name renames the file right there. No more living with "2026-07-21-1831" forever: the demo can simply be called demo.
